Crafted Treasures Online Art Exhibition

Explore the creations of Japanese artisans designated as Living National Treasures in this free online art exhibition by our Japan Information & Culture Center (JICC)! Find out more about the talents and techniques these artists protect, starting with the pottery of Tokuda Yasokichi III and Yoshita Minori. More works from the Embassy of Japan’s collection will be highlighted each week, so make sure to check back regularly for more art, history and related events!

Chefs & Japanese Wagyu Series

Our Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) is collaborating with DC-area restaurants to showcase how local chefs are preparing Japan’s signature wagyu beef! In this video series Nobu Yamazaki, the Michelin-starred chef/owner of Sushi Taro DC, demonstrates the flexibility of wagyu. You can also watch how Yuh Shimomura, chef/owner of Nasime in Alexandria VA, brings out wagyu’s distinct flavor and tenderness in a variety of different dishes.
