JASG’s Outdoor Japanese Summer Film Festival

The Japan-America Society of Georgia presents an outdoor Japanese film screening of Dad’s Lunch, a film inspired by a real-life story of a Japanese father who, for the three years his daughter spent at high school, prepared daily bento lunch boxes for her leading to delicious, interesting, or offbeat creations. In all cases, he put an effort into equipping his daughter with sustenance for school.
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to watch the movie outside underneath the stars or safely watch from the comfort of your own car staying socially distant from other attendees. Doors open at 7:30pm – come early to secure your spot.

Join Mandi, the in-house Tropical Expert at Forest Lake Greenhouses, for a DIY Kokedama workshop! Kokedama is a Japanese artform of growing plants in a moss-covered ball of soil.
After a bit of discussion, there will be a hands on Kokedama building activity. You will be leaving with your very own creation!
We will be in our Tropical House for this event, a large well-ventilated space with fresh air circulating constantly!
Our workshops will be limited to 10 participants and we are continuing to follow CDC guidelines.
