World Expo 2025 is coming to Osaka-Kansai! The 2025 Expo will focus on the creation of a sustainable and healthy “Future Society” in order to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. The 6-month-long event will be held on the man-made island of Yumeshima, where approximately 28 million visitors are expected. The Osaka-Kansai bid was supported by popular icons Pikachu and Hello Kitty who served as Special Ambassadors for the campaign.

Celebrating the National Museums of Asian Art
Deputy Chief of Mission Kazutoshi Aikawa joined a recent event organized by the Smithsonian’s two national museums of Asian art, the Freer Gallery of Art and the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery.
