JASNC(Japan America Society of North Carolina) presents : a Japanese Haori Fashion Show and Luncheon Fundraiser on March 20th at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary. It is hosted by the Japan America Society of North Carolina (JASNC) and produced in partnership with Southern Bridge International (SBI).

This fundraiser features an extraordinary collection of nearly 80 vintage haori, with about 10 currently available to preview online. These remarkable garments were generously donated by Linda Marcuson — cultural anthropologist, ceramic artist, and lifelong student of Asian art and heritage.
While living in Japan in the early 1980s, Linda personally collected these exquisite pieces. Many are crafted from luxurious silk and display timeless patterns, refined craftsmanship, and rich cultural symbolism. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Japanese artistry and history.
It promises to be a beautiful morning celebrating culture, craftsmanship, and community — and supporting JASNC’s important work in promoting Japanese arts and cultural exchange.

今回のチャリティイベントでは、約80点におよぶ貴重なヴィンテージ羽織コレクションを特集しています。現在そのうち約10点を上記に記載されているオンラインよりご覧いただけます。これらの素晴らしい作品は、文化人類学者であり陶芸家、そして長年アジア美術と文化を研究してきたリンダ・マーカソン氏よりご寄贈いただいたものです。
1980年代初頭に日本で生活されていた際、リンダ氏が自ら収集されたこれらの逸品は、多くが上質な絹で仕立てられ、時代を超えた文様、洗練された職人技、そして豊かな文化的象徴性を備えています。日本の芸術と歴史の一端を手にしていただけるまたとない機会です。
